I really liked the calligraphy. I also liked how synchronized all the performers were at doing everything. But of course, it IS China, I wouldn't expect anything less from them. Fireworks and the architecture were of course, also good. It's just too bad that NBC couldn't get real footage of the fireworks and had to use computer simulated ones....

Magnificent!

I am proud of China, proud of being a Chinese (even though I don't reside in China).

The opening ceremony is very "Chinese" indeed.

I think the opening ceremony was spectacular.
My favourite was the bit with the big globe and the people walking round it.
The fireworks were amazing too!.

Absolutely breath taking . . .I have never seen a more beautiful one ! What impressed me most was the unity, the oneness of the athletes . . .their love of sport and good sportsmanship . . .it was awesome ! !
