which country is more powerful and better?

I'd probably say, China. as it's a growing into one of the largest countries in the world and also thanks to the Olympics it will gain more popularity to them.
Oh and i don't think a country can be "better" than another.

russia, china is mega poor.

China is on an upswing. But it won't last for long.

I think Russia will still be going strong in 50 years, not so much for China.

So I will go with Russia. (If they get rid of the stupid communists.)

I believe Russia is the most powerful in Earth now.
It is the strongest in Earth by military view, it has the biggest nuclear armature and may be it has secret weapons like "UFO" with anti-gravity technology.
Nowadays Russia has a strong and very capable leader: Putin. Putin became a new Ceasar (=Char in russian).
Russia also has lots of petrol. China hasn't. China depends on petrol imports. Russia is a big exporter of petrol.
Russia basing in its increased power, becomes more "aggresive" globally and recently contracted a politic, economic (maybe and military) alliance with China.

China, The collapse of the sovient union over a decade ago makes using nucular warheads suicide for Russia and might start a war.
China is a very large county(population and space wise) with a very powerful military China also has countries in alliance with them.
From a popularity point of view China is known for the Olympics, population, pollution, festivals, traditions, landmarks, building the list goes on.
While Russia has Moscow, The larges country in the world, was at war with the US and the clothing and accent.China may be polluted and overpopulated, but at least they are rich, and practically everything we have was "MADE IN CHINA" but not "MADE IN RUSSIA", not many people know about Russia though so I think that some further research will be needed to find out whether Russia is better than China.

Russia because it is slowly building up power, China only gets power from rushing in and exploiting its people.

china has i think the fastest growing economy in the world but there is LOADS of poverty in china.

china has a very large army because of communism and totalitarianism.
