On monday ,the closing price of a share was 25sen.On tuesday,its price dropped 18sen and went up 10sen on wednesday.What is the closing price of the share on Wednesday?

The temperature of a place in England at one midnight is -24oC.At 4a.m.,its temperature fell by 6oC before going up by9oC at 7a.m.
Find the temperature of the place at 7a.m.

= -1 + 6 + 5
= 6 + 5 - 1
= 11 - 1
= +10

b)
(-7) - (+4) - (-2)
= -7 - 4 + 2
= -11 + 2
= -9

c)
(+3) - (-8) - (-4)
= 3 + 8 + 4
= 11 + 4
= 15

d)
(-15) - (-3) - (+9)
= -15 + 3 - 9
= -12 - 9
= -21

e)
25 + (-18) + 10
= 25 - 18 + 10
= 7 + 10
= 17sen

f)
-24°c - 6°c + 9°c
= -30°c + 9°c
= -21°c

Letter a:
= - 1 + 6 + 5
= 10

Letter b:
= - 7 - 4 + 2
= - 9

Letter c:
= 3 + 8 + 4
= 15

Letter d:
= - 15 + 3 - 9
= - 21

Wednesday closing share:
= 25 sen - 18 sen + 10 sen
= 17 sen

Temperature at 7 A.M.:
= - 24 C - 6 C + 9 C
= - 21 C

a) A double negative turns into a positive so this problem becomes (-1)+6+5=10
b) Same rules apply (-7)+4+2=(-1)
c)3+8+4=15
d) (-15)+3-9=(-21)

25-18+10=17

(-24)-6+9=(-21)

B=(-1)
C=(15)
D=(-21)

ans to problem 1 is

25-18+10=17 sen

i forgot how to answer the last problem just recheck the answers... hope this helps

Closing price on Monday 25 Sen
After dropping 18Sen 25-18 = 7 Sen
Up again 10 Sen on Wednesday 7+10 = 17 Sen

Temperature at midnight -24C
After falling 6C -24-6 = -30C
go up by 9C =-30+9 = -21C at 7 A.M.

Ok basically you have to know your multiplication rules for a-d. When you multiply two negative signs you get a positive, when you multiply a negative and positive sign, you get a negative. so :

A) -1 + 6 +6 = 11
B)-7 -4 +2 =-9
C)3+8 +4 =15
D) -15 +3 -9 = -22

Try translating the word problems into equations like the ones above. So:

1. started at :25 sen
DROPPED: 18sen
WENT UP: 10sen
now translate the words, dropped means minus and went up means plus:
25-18+10 = 17sen <--answer

2. started at: -25 C
FELL: 6 C
WENT UP: 9 C
translate words:
-25 -6 +9 = -22 C
