When one pilot takes a rest, the other one will control the aeroplane. The engineer checks the engines and makes sure that they are working properly.
There are many things to help the pilots fly the aeroplane. The compass lets them know the directions, and the radio lets them talk to the people in the airport.
Radio messages are important. They let the pilots know the weather and what is happening. They also let the people in the airport know what happening in the aeroplane. When there are no radio massages form the aeroplane, the people in the airport will send search planes to look for it because that amy mean an accident.
