Please solve this quadratic equation using factoring or any method....

2x^2 = 16
x^2 = 8
x = +/- sqrt 8
......

2x^2 = 16.

Divide both sides by 2.

x^2 = 8.

Now take the square root....

x = +/- sqrt(8)

=>x^2=8
=>x=+sqrt(8) and -sqrt(8)

Take the square root of each side so your left with
2x= 4
Then divide both sides by 2 and
x=2

2x^2 = 16
2x^2 - 16 = 0
This is a 'bad' quadratic.. as the x-intercepts are non-recurring decimals.. After using a Graphics calculator, they are found to be 2.828427125 and -2.828427125
So, you will want to use the quadratic formula
x= (-b (+ or -) sqrt.[b^2 -4ac])/2a
a = 2 b=0 c = -16

x^2=16/2
x^2=8
then take square on both side then we get
x=(+or-)2.828427124
or x=(+or-)2*squre root of 2
