當指一般的工作, work 係用作 uncountable noun。
The work of a doctor is challenging. 醫生的工作是富挑戰性的。
Hard work is good for you. 勤力工作對你是有益處的。
但係 work可解作「作家, 音樂家, 或藝術家等的作品」, 這情況下的work 就係countable noun。
