A stone is dropping from a cliff 200m above the sea level. Its distance from
the top of the cliff after t second is given by s=5(t^2).What is the rate of
change of its distance from a boat 100m from the fot of the cliff at t=5?

This problem practically involes no physics phenomenon. It is purely an maths proble. So I would only give a short solution to it.

The distance D between the stone at time t and the boat is,
D^2 =(200-5t^2)^2 + 100^2

Differentiate both sides with respect ot t and simplfying,
dD/dt = (-10t)(200-5t^2)/square-root[(200-5t^2)^2+100^2]

substitute t= 5 s into the equation and calculate
