3x-1 = x+5
2x = 6
x =3

AB = 3x-1 = 3(3)-1 =8

Area = AB * AB = 8 * 8 =64

Regular pentagon has 5 sides,
so the sume of interior angeles is:
S = (5-2) x 180 =540
2b)
5 equals angels in a regular pentagon, so :
y = 540 / 5
y = 108
3a)
Saving for the year : (P - Q) x 12
Saving after the tax = (P - Q) x 12 - 7000
3b)
Yearly Saving = (P - Q) x 12 - 7000
(9000 - 7000) x 12 -7000 = 17000
