1. Bar chart and histogram and two diagrams with different use.

Bar chart is usually used to describe discrete statistical classes, e.g. different kinds of vehicles on a particular road, etc.

Historgram can only be used to describe continuous statistical classes, e.g. the height of students in a particular school, etc.

This is the major difference in terms of usage. You can never use a histogram to present the statistics on number of different kinds of vehicles passing through Nathan Road between 8:00 to 9:00 today.


2. In terms of outlook, there must not be gaps between bars of a histogram, but usually there are gaps betwwn bars of a bar chart. This is a difference in outlook.
