In 3,4-dimethylhexane, explain why there would be a significant peak at m/e=89

During electron bombrament within mass spectrometer, there will be a peak recorded at m/e ratio at 89 if one of the methyl groups is clevaged at either 3rd or 4th position of carbon skeleton. Anyway, electron bombarment with the above-mentioned compound will give several possibility.


Precsiely, you should read the peak from the mass spectrum of 3.4-dimethylhexane but not predicted in theory.
