x²-3x-10 = 0 can be seperated as:
x²-5x+2x-10 = 0
=> x(x - 5)+2(x - 5) = 0,
(x + 2)(x - 5) = 0.
So, either (x + 2)= 0 or (x - 5) = 0.
If (x + 2)= 0, then x = -2 and if (x - 5) = 0, then x = 5. So, we can say that variable 'x' has two values or solutions -2,5.

x^2-3x-10
(x-5)(x+2)
x=5, -2

x^2 - 3x - 10 = 0
x^2 + 2x - 5x - 10 = 0
(x^2 + 2x) - (5x + 10) = 0
x(x + 2) - 5(x + 2) = 0
(x + 2)(x - 5) = 0

x + 2 = 0
x = -2

x - 5 = 0
x = 5

∴ x = -2 , 5

x^2-3x-10=0

(x-5)(x+2)=0

x=5 or -2

(x - 5)(x + 2) = 0
x = 5 , x = - 2
