it can be or simply 1 because if u then give a specific value for x it they will have desame value just
for example what is the quotient of x/x if x=4
x/x = 4/4
=1
x=1
but if there is no given value then it would be = 0
because the rules of dividing a variable copy/keep
the then subtract their exponent

for example what is the value of x/x
x/x there is no exponent meaning only 1 so therefore 1-1 = 0

7 / 7 = 1 , 9 / 9 = 1 , 100 / 100 = 1 etc
THUS
x / x = 1

Any number divided by itself is equal to 1 except 0
eg.
1. 5/5 = 1
2. a/a = 1
Therefore x/x = 1

it is definitely 1

remember that anything divided by itself will result to 1..

except if x = 0, which will make the answer undefined..

long story short, anything divided by itself equals 1. (the only exception is zero)

hope this helped!

BY THE WAY, bon bon is wrong.

x / x cannot be zero.

the rule for dividing variables is:
x³ / x² = x³ˉ² = x¹ = x

x / x = x¹ˉ¹ = x°

ANYTHING to the zero power = 1

therefore x/x = 1

x/x (If x ≠ 0)
= 1
2008-07-26 5:24 pm
x/x = 1

It is like,

5/5 = 1

4/4 = 1

So, any term or number divided by itself is equal to ONE (1).

1

On dividing a no. by itself gives 1.

It definitely simplifies to 1.

Think about it as if x=2. 2/2 is obviously equal to 1.
