The best thing is a healthy diet. Not saying you do any of these of course as I don't know, but less alcohol, and no smoking. I quit smoking almost two years ago and it has improved significantly.
I tried several drugs- zantac, that purple pill whatever it is, and a couple others, the names of which I cannot remember. None of these worked.
Sometimes it is just a matter of finding out what foods aggravate it and weeding them out of your diet. Eat smaller portions, and eat slowly. Avoid eating within two hours before sleeping. If you drink or smoke, avoid doing either within an hour before or after eating.
Stress is also a major factor- avoid or minimize stressors.
