(4x^2 + 8x + 4)/(x + 1) , factorise 4 of numerator
=4(x^2 + 2x +1)/(x + 1) , factorise x^2 + 2x +1
=4(x + 1)^2/(x +1) ,cancel a (x +1) term on both numerator and denomenator

=4(x + 1)

So, the final answer is 4(x +1).
