Is the x part of the exponent?

5 *2^(3x) = 10
2^(3x) = 2
3x = 1
x = 1/3

x = 1/3

5 *2^3X = 10

2^3X = 10/5

2^3X = 2
since 2^3X = 2 ( the same as 2^3X = 2^1),

3x = 1
x= 1/3

hope that helps

x=1/3, because 2 times 5 equals 10. Therefore, 2^3x=2.

2^3x=10/5=2=2^1 3x=1 x=1/3

Given eqn. is 5 *2^3X = 10
=> 2^3x = 10/5=2
Take log on both sides with base 2
Log 2^3x = Log 2
=> 3x = 1
=> x = 1/3 Ans.

okay...
i think it's x=1/3..
because:
5 times 2^3x=10
2^3x=10/5
2^3x=2^1
3x=1
x=1/3

(5) (2³) x = 10
2³ x = 2
x = 2 / 8
x = 1 / 4

Use brackets when typing a question in order to avoid confusion.

5 * (2^3x) = 10.
=>(2^3x) = 2.
=>(2^3x) = 2^1.
Comparing the powers:
3x = 1.
So x = 1/3.
2008-07-19 3:26 pm
5[2^(3x)] = 10
2^(3x) = 10/5
2^(3x) = 2
2^(3x) = 2^1
3x = 1
x = 1/3
