1.Have you expressed your gratitude to the person(s), such as parents, teachers, and friends? If yes, what have you done, if no, what do you plan to do?
Every year, I habitually dine out with my parents for their birthdays. I think this is a kind of gratitude I express to them. Although it is nothing special, they can feel my hearty thanks for them. Sometimes, buying them a little present will make them cheerful and satisfied.
2. What do you think can support your moments of depression, despair or a setback? Why?
Our belief is the most important thing that can support us to live through moments of depression, despair or a setback. Both moral and religious belief can help us a lot --- give us more courage and perseverance. We must accept that it is inevitable for us to experience ups and downs of life. But we can expect a better tomorrow and wait for the return of our good luck. Doing good deeds can bring us good luck. Besides, our belief can be further reinforced with the family’s unconditional support.
3. Would you think it is worth the efforts to live so hard if you were Bill Porter? Why or not?
It depends on whether you value the process or the result more, no matter what you are doing. Just like in a competition, someone cares about whether they win the victory or not. But some others enjoy the process of struggling. If I were Bill Porter, I would do the same as he did. Although the result is important, the process is equally important and should not be neglected.
