Please go to the official website for USA universities and community colleges.
www.collegeboard.com
You will find everything you need to know for choosing the appropriate universities or community colleges.
After having completed the AA degreee (2 years degree), you can be transferred to an accredited university (認可大學) for another 2 years courses in order to get a bachelor degree.
With different websites for the above said community colleges, you can compare the details, including the locations. The tution charges for the accredited community colleges are similar. For a local resident, it is about US$250 for each subject, while it might be more than a double for oversea students, i.e. about US$500.
Generally speaking, you do not need to take SAT or tofel to enter the community colleges. You just take the entrance examination for the community college, which will then put you into the right class suitable for your standard. If your standard is higher, you will be allocated to a higher level course that will make you less time in completing a AA degree, i.e. less than 2 years time.
Credits---- If you pass 1 subject in a community college, you will get 3 credits, similarily, 2 subjects =- 6 credits, 3 subjects = 9 credits, etc.
GPA--the minimum requirement is 2GPA, the maximum is 4GPA, e.g. In a seminar, you take 4 subjects at C grade, you may get 2.6 GPA; if you fail in 1 subject, your GPA may be 2.2; if you get 4 subjects with A, B, B, D, it may be 2.3; if 4 subjects at D (failed grade), then your GPA might fall below 2. However, you can take less than 4 subject in a seminar, if you are unable to take 4 subject at one time. As a result, you may spend more time to get a AA degree, i.e. more than 2 years, say 3 years or more.
