1) Express 50g as percentage of 1kg.

2) A deposit of $5000 gives a simple interest of $1500 at 5% p.a. Find the
period of deposit.

3) John borrow $3000 at 5% p.a. compounded yearly. Find the total
compound interest he will pay in 2 years.

4) Car A travels at 54km/h and car B travel at 24 m/s . Find the ratio of the
speed of car A to that of car B.

The percentage of 50 g in 1 kg (1000 g) = (50/1000) x 100%

The percentage of 50 g in 1 kg (1000 g) = 5%

Interest = Principal x Rate x (No. of Periods)

I = P x R x n

1500 = 5000 x 5% x n

n = 1500 / (5000 x 5%) years

n = 6 years

Ans: The period of deposit = 6 years

I = $3000x(1+5%)2 - $3000

I = $3307.5 - $3000

I = $307.5

Ans: The total compound interest in 2 years is $307.5

Speed of car A = 54 x (1000 m/3600 s)

Speed of car A = 15 m/s

Speed of car A : Speed of carbon B = 3x5: 3x8

Speed of car A : Speed of carbon B = 5 : 8
