It is known that the volume of a cone = (1/3)兀r^2h where r is the base radius and h is the height; and the volume of sphere = (4/3)兀r^3 where r is the
radius.
A metal sphere of radius 5 cm is melted to form a cone of base radius 10 cm. Find the height of the cone.

Let h cm be the height of the cone.

Volume of the sphere = Volume of the cone

(4/3)π(5)3 = (1/3)π(10)2h

4 x 125 = 100h

h = 5

Ans: The height of the cone is 5 cm.
