Jogging and plateauing?

I lost 20lbs by jogging/stair climbing after a couple of months but now am plateauing. I really need some ideas on how to increase the intensity. Here are a few ideas I came up with already

jogging for a longer period of time (I jog for an hour every other day)
Jog more frequently (once a day 6 days a week)
Jog with a book bag w/ weights in it

I also diet, eat fruits, vegetables etc. If you have any suggestions of how to intensify my workout please post. Thanks in advance.

maybe you need a new activity to add to your already healthy routine
like yoga
it can focus the mind and help you move on in your fitness goals
never underestimate the power of positive thinking
and maybe you need a goal
not just that you are losing weight, but that you are getting healthy, and that you will live a longer healthier life, maybe set a time that you buy yourself something special or go on a nice getaway as a treat for being so good to yourself

Good on you for losing weight and keeping it off. But, I doubt you're plateauing in the true sense of the word. When you plateau, it means your body cannot possibly get faster/stronger/better. The only folks who do this are professional athletes who constantly compete and train and have a very regimented diet and exercise lifestyle.

Weight may not be coming off because you have lost the ideal amount and you are at your body's exemplary weight.

If you currently jog an hour, three days a week, you could try increasing the middle day. Instead of looking at time, try looking at distances. An hour of running means 5-6 miles. Try stretching it to 8 or 9 miles. Lose the bookbag, too. That'll hurt your back and your knees and ankles.

Start lifting weights and doing push-ups and pull-ups. You need to add strength training with the cardio.

Jogging and stair climbing work primarily on your slow twitch muscles, and improve your aerobic endurance. You may want to consider working on your fast twitch muscles as well. You can do some sprints intermingled with your jogging. The sudden acceleration and deceleration will cause you to burn much more calories than jogging at a constant pace. A 25 yard or a 50 yard dash would be a good start.
The martial arts, boxing, and lifting weights at or near your maximum capacity are other ways to train your fast twitch muscles.
Low fat meats such as skinless chicken breast and lean cuts of beef will help you to lose weight because these high quality proteins require more calories to digest them than the calories that they can provide.

You should mix up your jogging with HIIT(high intensity interval training). You'll burn more fat by running hard, then slowing down, and repeating. Your body gets used to a continuous paced run, which is why you're experiencing a plateau. Try jogging at first, then running faster/sprinting, then jog slowly, and get faster again. I guarantee you wont last as long
