Divide $860 between Tom, Jack and Peter ,so that Tom has $210 more than Jack , and Jack has $40 more than Peter . how much does each get?

Divide $860 between Tom, Jack and Peter ,so that Tom has $210 more than Jack , and Jack has $40 more than Peter . how much does each get?
LET X=Peter's ,
∴X+40=Jack's , X+40+210=Tom's
and then,
X+(X+40)+(X+40+210)=860
3X+290=860
3X=570
X=190
So,
Peter's=X=$190
Jack's=X+40=$230
Tom's= X+40+210=$440
Peter gets $190, Jack's gets $230 and Tom gets $440. (ans) //
