Normally, teachers like to suggest students to read newspaper and books.
I would suggest you to read novels, like Harry Potter(english version), The Memory Keeper's Daughter. Besides, you can do gramma exercises. This can really help because many people can understand content of a book but their composition is not satisfactory.
