Why do you think people give presents to other people?

For me, I think only two reasons.

Firstly, people think presents can show their feeling and deference. For example, daughter knits a scarf to her mother because Mother's Day is approaching, so she put all time to make her present in order to show her love to her mother. In the future, her mother will buy a present to her daughter for showing her care. You see, the presents can reveal each other's feeling.

As everyone knows, chinese are the most polite in the world so bad people use this point to take some advantages from other chinese. Those bad people give a cheap gift to their friends, while their friends will give a expensive gift to them due to thank. Those bad people use the gifts for cheating their friends' money and feeling, maybe they think money is more valuable than friendship.

Do you think that is impossible? I can tell you that it happens in our lives.

For me, I think [there are] only two reasons.

Firstly, people think presents can show their feeling[s] and difference[s]. For example, [a] [you need an indefinite article] daughter knits a scarf to her mother because Mother's Day is approaching, so she spend[s][you need to add a s to the verb and spends is a better verb than puts] all [her] time to make [the] present in order to show her love to her mother. In the future, her mother will buy her a present to [for is a wrong preposition] show [delete ing] her care towards her. You see, [delete the-no need to use a definite article as this is a general statement] presents can reveal people's feeling[s] towards each other.

Secondly, [as you've mentioned you had two reasons, so it is better if you make it clear that you are now talking about the second reason] as Chinese [capital letter for Chinese] is the most polite [nation] in the world. [Some] people use this [quality of Chinese people] to take [delete some] advantages of [from is a wrong preposition] their friends. For example, one would give a cheap gift to their friends in expectation that they would be given an [not a] expensive [gift in return to thank them]. I would consider this kind of people as bad because they give their friends gifts for a purpose. Maybe they think money is more valuable than friendship.

Do you think [this kind of thing happens in our lives]? I can tell you that it does.
