Active 主動句子: Fire destroyed the palace 火災燒毁了皇官。

這裏subject = fire, 而object = palace。


當改寫成passive sentence:

Passive 被動句子: The palace was destroyed by fire 皇官被火災燒毁了。


改變後的結果

Active Direct Object (the palace) 變成 the passive Subject.

「受詞」是名詞性質的字、片語或子句，接在及物動詞或介系詞後，接受某一動作、方式、狀態或性質。分成直接與間接受詞：直接受詞是句子中動作的接受者，間接受詞是用來指示動詞之動作執行的對象 (人、物)。


例句：他送禮物他的摯友。在這裡[禮物]是直接受詞，[他的摯友] 間接受詞
