無法明白樓上何解認為唔可以用 was being attacked。係唔係只係唔記得左點用 passive voice?簡單 例子:
The dog could bite me. => I could be bitten (by the dog).
加入 main verb(bite)之前o既係 be o既一個 form(be / is / am / are / being / been),tense 跟 main verb,而 main verb 變 past participle。
何況,呢句只有一個 past participle(attacked),何來 double past participle(was 唔係喎)?
無疑,一句就咁用 past continuous 少見,但配合上文下理亦無不可。如:
A: What were you doing when I was waiting for youhere?
B: I was being attacked by Tom back then! Can't you see the wounds?
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
兩句都冇錯,答返問題,中譯如下:
I was being attacked by Tom
我當時正被 Tom 襲擊(注意,用 past continuous 時係講發生左o既暫時情況,所以用到「當時正...」)

I was attacked by Tom
我(曾)被 Tom 襲擊(簡單記述事件,就咁就得啦,可以從句意知道呢件係舊事,亦可以加「曾經」以成強調)

Both sentences are correct!
1. I was being attacked by Tom (Passive voice - past continuous tense)
(Active voice - Tom was attacking me)
2. I was attacked by Tom ( Passive voice - past tense)
(Active voice - Tom attacked me)
Therefore, both sentences are correct with the difference in the tense.

1. 我曾經當時正在被湯姆襲擊
2. 我曾經被湯姆襲擊

I was being attacked by Tom.
Was = is/am. being = (past participle) is. Hence, you shouldn't put these 2 (same meaning) words together and made a wrongful double past participles.
So, I was attacked by Tom (this morning). is the correct sentence. (我今天(早上)被Tom襲擊). Note: I added: this morning, just to make a complete sentence.
參考: self
