The question above seems to be tricky but I will do my very best to answer the question.
Now, according to my ancestor Isaac Newton, the principle used in solving this problem is very rare.
Here it goes:
Given: 100, 000
12%
Solution:
multiply 100000 by .12
100,000 * 0.12 = 12,000
therefore the answer is 12,000.
just a reminder when solving problem like this is that you must be cautious to avoid being tricked.

12% of 100,000 = (12/100) / 100,000
= 12,000
100%<------>100,000
10%<--------> 10,000
2%<------------>2,000
12%<--------->12,000
100,000 / 100 = 1000
1000 x 12 = 12,000
Thats usually the simplest way of figuring out a percentage
Hope this helps.

Use your calculator:
12 x 100,000 divided by 100 = 12,000
100000 x 12%
= 100000 x 12/100
= 1200000/100
= 12000
