✔ 最佳答案
sqrt of y+4-4=5

sqrt y+4=9

y+4=81
y=77
2008-06-26 11:10 am
√y+4=9
then
√(y=5
then
y^1/2=5
then
y^1/y^2=5/1
cross multiply
y times 2y
answer= 3y

√(y+4) - 4 = 5
√(y+4) = 9
√(y+4) ^2= 9^2 (squaring both sides)
y+4 = 81
y = 77

y=25
2008-06-26 11:07 am
Y = 77

How far does the square root extend to? if the square root covers (y+4) then the answer is y=77

√(y+4) - 4 = 5
+4 +4

√(y+4) =9 square both sides to get rid of the root!

y+4=81
-4 -4

y=77

√(y + 4) = 9
y + 4 = 81
y = 77

√(y + 4) - 4 = 5
√(y + 4) = 5 + 4
√(y + 4) = 9
y + 4 = 9^2
y + 4 = 81
y = 81 - 4
y = 77
2008-06-26 11:09 am
√(y+4) - 4 = 5
√(y+4) = 9
√(y+4) ^2= 9^2
y+4 = 81
Y = 77
i think im in 8th sorry if its wrong
