我想補充以下一句:

當熱帶氣旋進入了香港800公里之內, 戒備信號(1號風球)就會掛起, 但跟著是否要改掛更高的風球, 係視乎風速的強度, 與距離再無關係 (除了當風眼經過本港時, 就會掛10號風球, 這情況算是與距離有關)。
