If basic needs are satisfied, food, shelter, job, then one's body need is satisfied.
But if wants and desires have to be satisfied, then may be the whole world can't satisfy me or you.
Someone may say, "If I have this, then I will be satisfed."
But this is just a trap, once you that, you find you are still not satisfied.
Actually I think the source of satisfication is we easily compare with others
Someone is better off than me, someone's boyfd is wealther than my boyfriend, someone's house is bigger than mine, someone's job is more high paid than me, someone is more handsome than me, someone is cleverer than me.
And those comparsion would yield jealousy, enviness and greediness.
So if we stop comparing with others, when we are having dinner, we just focus on our food, and not our desire, our dreams, our thoughts, and when we eat, we eat, it is already a miracle.
Someone once asked a Zen master, "How do you practise Zen?"
He replied, "When I eat, I eat, when I sleep, I sleep."
To me, even a heart saying to itslef, " I am satisfied" is not really satisfied.
True satisfication is free of all all wants and desires( excpet some basic needs), is a heart knowing the whole strucutre of wants and desires and whole activiites of the mind.
And a satisfied mind is a simple, beautiful mind.
