Buying Ciggarates and Alcohol

Is it illegal to buy those things when you are under 18. Also, if you are providing them to people under 18, will that be an offence?

What about providing them, but not selling?

It is not illegal for people under 18 to buy alcohol and cigarettes (or tobacco products).
But it is illegal to sell tobacco products and intoxicating alcohol to anyone under 18.

If you are providing them privately between friends then you have not done anything illegal. But if you are providing them as gifts in a prize draw, as an advertising giveaway, in exchange for tokens (as in amusement arcades where you exchange gifts with tokens won), etc etc then it is illegal.
