Are preference shareholder entitled to receive dividend every year?
Can the BOD declares not to propose any dividend(including PS div)? For PS holders, what can they do if they are not happy that the company will not give dividend to them?

every preference share has stated their rights such as cum div / fixed div or whatever

if that specific preference share has stated that there are no fixed dividend, the BOD can declare no dividend to PS shares BUT please remember that if PS shareholder has no dividend, OS shares also have no div as well

if the share has marked a fixed income, the BOD cannot broke the promise.

every rights are "black and white" for PS shareholder not determine by happy or not happy

like this ... if you make a fixed deposit in HSBC, if HSBC not give you interest after that period of time without reasonable excuse, what will you do... sue them
