It depends on that person's interest, talents and background, I know many Europeans and Asians can speak 3 - 4 languages. My son is a native English speaker, we speak Cantonese to him, taking Mandarin (5 years) at Sunday Chinese school, taking Spanish (5 years) at school, will take Latin at school next school year.
