3x^2 = -9x?

3x² = -9x
3x² + 9x = 0

Factor out a 3x:

Clearly, if x = 0, we have a solution.

If x is not zero, we can divide both sides by x to get

3x = -9

Divide both sides by 3

3x/3 = x = -9/3 = -3

Two solutions

x = 0 and x = -3

3x^2 = -9x
3x^2 + 9x = 0
3x(x + 3) = 0
(x + 3) = 0
x = -3 OR x = 0

This is a quadratic: ax^2 + bx + c

where c = 0

3x^2 + 9x = 0

3x(x + 3) = 0

So, x = 0, x = -3

3x^2 = -9x
3x^2 + 9x = 0
3x(x + 3) = 0

3x = 0
x = 0/3
x = 0

x + 3 = 0
x = -3

∴ x = 0 , -3

3x^2 = -9x

Bring over the -9x to the left:

3x² + 9x = 0

Factor out a 3x:

3x(x + 3) = 0

Now from this you have that x = 0 or x = -3.
