Take the base 99 logarithm of both sides of the equation to remove the variable from the exponent.

log99(99^x)=log99(1)

The left-hand side of the equation is equal to the exponent of the logarithm argument because the base of the logarithm equals the base of the argument.

x=log99(1)

The logarithm of 1 for any base is 0.

x=(0)

Remove the parenthesis around the expression 0.

x=0 <---answer

x log 99 = log 1
x log 99 = 0
x = 0

Just by looking at it, an experienced math student will tell you any power to 0 is 1. So x is 0.

To prove it mathematically,

99^x = 1
log(99^x) = log(1)
x log(99) = log(1)
x= log (1) / log (99)
x=0

From the third line, it's already apparent that x=0 since log(1)=0.

n^0 = 1

99^x = 1
99^x = 99^0
x = 0

x=0
Anything raised to power 0 is 1.

That's okay... I forget that all the time haha.

yeah!

You are right!
