how do you simplify....
x^2+7x/3x

I got x^2+7/3
is this correct?

Unless you meant (x^2+7x)/3x
And then it's (x+7)/3

you need to rewrite it as two rational numbers added.

x² / 3x + 7x / 3x and now you can divide out the common factors.

x / 3 + 7 / 3 and since these have the same denominators you can rewrite them back as a sum

( x + 7 ) / 3

In theory, yes. But I think the excersice is more like this:

(x^2+7x)/3x In that case

x(x+7)/3x

(x+7)/3 this would be the answer
