You can only add like terms, meaning you can only add the a²'s together and the a's together.

3a + 2a² - a + a²
=(2a² + a²) + (3a - a)
=3a² + 2a

= 3a + 2a² - a + a²
= 3a² + 2a
= a(3a + 2)

Answer: a(3a + 2) or 3a² + 2a

3a + 2a^2 - a + a^2
= 2a^2 + a^2 + 3a - a
= 3a^2 + 2a
= a(3a + 2)

2a² + a² + 3a - a
3a² + 2a
2008-06-19 10:05 am
3a + 2a^2 - a + a^2
= 2a^2 + a^2 + 3a - a
= 3a^2 + 2a
Collecting terms is adding or subtracting like terms from each other depending on the signs at the start of each term.

3a² + 2a don't listen to the guy who said you can combine the a and the a(squared) cause u can't
2008-06-19 6:59 am
3a+2asquared-1a+1a squared
(combine 3a and -1a because they're the same terms... "3-1=2")
2a+2a squared+1a squared
(combine 2a squared and 1 a squared "2+1=3")
2a+3a squared
參考: i've done this in math class.

well a term is ether a, a² and you just have to add the terms together that means only a+a, or a²+a² but you cant add a+a² those are like two diffrent numbers

2a + 3a*squared
