i plan to go to Phuket with 2 children (4yrs n 1.5yr old), this is the 1st time we go there, so which area is suitable for us?
Patong or Karon has more choice of restaurants? or pls suggest some 5 or 4 stars hotels in these area. My target is nice room, with beautiful pool, possible has some facilities for kids.
how is Banthai? some comment saying very old n not good as i saw the photos in its site.
wat abt Amari Coral Resort? how long it takes to Pantong town?
And if we stay in JW Marriot, is there any restaurant or shops nearby?

Patong was more convenience for dining and restaurant, quite a lot of restaurant over there, even "dai pai dong", but the hotel was not good, most of the hotel was very old.Banthai - is very old, I'm not recommended.
Amari coral resort - quiet end of the Patong beach, not convenience to Patong walking street (at least 15 minutes)
J/W Marriott - the hotel is very good, it is near the airport but very far away to Patong and Phuket town, at least 500 baht to patong for a single trip.

Holiday Inn - just a short step to Patong Beach, very convenience.
Karon:
Moevenpick Resort & Spa - 5 star hotel with a play zone (tv games, outdoor and indoor games, 波波池) and beautiful pool.
Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort & Spa - 5 star hotel with children playground and 3 swimming pool.
I would like to suggest Laguna Beach Resort for you, although is far away from Patong (450 baht taxi fee), they had a luxury family accommodation on Bang Tao Beach with 4 acre water park and kids club. They also can arrange the babysitter for you.
