to know what is the value of y when x=2
multiply both with 4 to make x value 2 x=0.5*4 =2
y=4*4 =16
so when x=2 y=16
y = 4 and x = 0.5
when x = 2,
y = 2/0.5 x 4
y = 20/5 x 4
y = 4 x 4
y = 16
y varies directly as x.
y=kx, where k is a constant
4=k(0.5)
k= 4 / 0.5
k = 8
y=8x
when x=2,
y=8(2) = 16
so a direct relationship is y=kx. so you can find out what the ratio is. 4/.5=8. so when x=2 y=16
