1¾ = 7/4.
2 2/5 = 12/5.

Now, the equation formed is:
(7/4) + (12/5).
Take the LCM for the denominators. It's 20.
So, (7/4) + (12/5) becomes: (35 + 48)/20, which equals (83/20). This can further written as 4.15........ Hope this helps. ≤☺≥

Method 1
1 15/20 + 2 8/20
3 23/20
4 3/20

Method 2
35/20 + 48/20
83/20
4 3/20

first 1 3/4 will become ((4 * 1) + 3 ) / 4 = 7/4

next 2 2/5 will become ((5 * 2) + 2) / 5 = 12/5

Now taking LCM for 4 & 5 (ie 20) and adding we will get,

(7 * 5 ) + (12 * 4 ) / 20

( 35 + 48) / 20

83 / 20

So the answer will be 83 / 20

multiply 4 to 1 then add the ans to 3 then divide it to 4 plus multiply 5 to 2 then add the ans. to 2 then divide it to 5

it becomes 7/4+12/5 , since it has different denominator, you should get a common denominator for that and that is 20

it becomes (35+48)/20= 83/20 or 4 3/20

1 3/4 + 2 2/5
convert the mixed fraction into improper fraction..
i.e.
1 3/4=4*1+3=7/4
similarly...
2 2/5=5*2+2=12/5
add 7/4+12/5
take the lcm of 4 and 5
wich is 20
nw solve it
it becomes
35+48/20
i.e.83/20
convert in mixed fraction
you will get
4 3/20

= 7/4 + 12/5 ( 4*1+3/4 + 5*2+2/5)
= 35 + 48 /20 ( LCM of 4 and 5 is 20 Since 4*5 is 20 so multiply 7 with 5 do the same with 12)
=83/20 ( add 35 and 48)
=4 3/20
=4.15

I'll give it my best shot:

first you need to multiply the fractions by the number in front:
1 time anything is the same so 1(3/4)=3/4
and 2(2/5) you just multiply the numerator by the number in front so you should be thinking: 2x2/5 = 4/5

then you need to find a common denominator between the two new fractions so you can add them together and finally get an answer:
3/4+4/5 which in this case is 20
and whenever you find a common denominator you have to multiply the same number on top as you did on the bottom like this:
3/4x5 = 3/20 then 3x5/20 = 15/20
4/5x4 = 4/20 then 4x4/20 = 16/20

then you just add the numerators only and the denominators stay the same
15/20 + 16/20 = 21/20

hope this helps a little.

Ok, (this may sound weird, im 11) first you need the lowest commen denominator which would be 20 and 3/4 to et to 20 you need to times 5 and what yu do to the bottom you must do to the top and that makes it 15/20 and the second one to get to 20 you must times 4 and what you do to the bottom you mest do to the top and the turns it ino 8/20 so

1 15/20+ 2 8/20= 4 3/20

there you go. i may be 11 but i know how to work it out.

P.s how old r you?

1 3/4 = 1 15/20
2 2/5= 2 8/20
1 15/20 = 2 8/20= 3 23/20
3 23/20 = 4 3/20

Multiplying fractions multiply the tops and bottoms
1/4 x 3/4= 1x3 over 4x4
3/16

You change the fractions to comon denominators. 4 and 5 have a common denominator of 20. so change them. 4x5, 5x4, then change the top. 3x5, 2x4. That makes 3/4+15/20 and 2/5=8/20. then add. that is 23/20. that turns into 1 5/20/ Simplify 5/20 into 1/4 then add 1+1+2= 4 1/4
