I am an s1 student of HKUGAC and an interview is needed. The interviews would be in this order:
1. A group discussion interview
-You would be asked to watch a play (or any material) and then discuss it with other candidates. I'm not sure if an S1-S2 student would need that.
2. An individual interview
-This interview is needed only for some students whom are not sure whether they are suitable (other students would be either accepted or declined)
I am not the principal nor teacher so I don't know the processes
But I think that the interviews are over so you might try it out next year
After the interviews there will be a test. A test for all S1s in HK and this school uses it as a "before school test" to test your academics skills. Our school uses academic skills to allocate classes (The last year was allocated according to the Maths and English skills, and the classes are A B C D E. This year the allocation is unknown, but there are rumours that some classes are better. The classes are YH and LK, the rumoured best classes (I'm not boasting but I'm in YH), and the HY and LC, the rumoured second best classes and finally the CH and WW.
If you're asking survival tips in school, here are some you would like to pay attention to:
1. The "Who is dating who" problem is serious
2. Most S1s are unbelievably idiotic and please do not mess with anyone
3.Try to improve your English because it is spoken everywhere (we have a lot of english teachers)
4. Stick to the flow, don't try to be too unique (Unique is good, but don't stick out too much. If you're gonna stick out, do it cool and amaze people)
5. Beware of one specific English teacher, whom I really hate. Name has a fruit in it.
Hope this helps!
