I am involved in all natural processes. My value in the universe is continuously increasing. Because of me, heat cannot be converted completely to work. Under certain conditions my value is zero.
1.Who am I?
Entropy
2.Why in my value continuously increasing in the universe?
According to the second law of thermodynamics, change in entropy of an isolated system must be positive. Therefore, there is more and more entropy in the universe.
3.In what way am I involved in incomplete conversion of heat into work?
Heat loss to the surroundings
4.When does my value become zero?
It is when the process is reversible.

1. friction.
2. friction is important in many aspect.
3. friction make some energy converted into heat.
4. when the two contacting surfaces are smooth,
the value of friction becomes zero.
