(1) A和C分別為OB和OD上的點 , 且OA : AB = OC : CD = 3 : 2。設

AE : ED = m : 1 , BE : EC = n : 1 , 而__OA__ = a , __OC__ = b。

(a) 試以a、b和m表OE。(其中a、b為黑體字母)

(b) 試以a、b和 n 表OE。(其中a、b為黑體字母)

(c) 由此,求m和 n 的值。

OD=5OC/3 = 5b/3. AD = OD-OA = 5b/3 - a. AE = mAD/(1 +m) = m(5b/3 -a)/(1 + m). Therefore, OE = OA + AE = a + m(5b/3 - a)/(1 +m) = [1 -m/(1 + m)]a + 5mb/3(1 +m). = a/(1 +m) + 5mb/3(1 +m).....................(1)
OB = 5OA/3 = 5a/3. BC = OC - OB = b - 5a/3. BE = nBC/(1 + n)
= n(b - 5a/3)/(1 + n). OE = OB + BE = 5a/3 + n(b-5a/3)/(1 +n)
= 5a/3(1 +n) + nb/(1 +n).................... (2)
From (1) and (2), we get 1/(1+m) = 5/3(1 +n)........................................(3) and n/(1 +n) = 5m/3(1 +m)...............................(4).
(4)/(3) we get 25m = 9n or n=25m/9, substitute into (3), we get m =3/5.
Therefore, n=5/3.
