是否兩個叫法都是正確?
是不是cock 是公雞，有羽毛，而cork是樽塞與羽毛球圓球部份的物料一樣，所以兩個叫法都可以？
請詳細解釋。

本人提問此題後，先後到書局及公共圖書館查各大字典，包括牛津，劍橋，Longmans 及Collins等，發覺它們是沒有Shuttlecork 此個字，只有Shuttlecock。譬如在Collins Dictionary,有以下的解釋。 Shuttlecock: Round head object made of cork or plastic stuck with feathers and struck to and fro in Badminton.
有趣的是，雖然英文字典沒有Shuttlecork這個字，但如你在yahoo web 搜查此字，竟然有十三頁之多，其中有大部份是誤將shuttlecock當為shuttlecork。本人猜想其原因是(1) cork 與cock相近，混淆了或打錯字 (2) shuttlecock 圓形部份是用cork軟木或俗稱「水松」這成的，故誤用了cork在shuttle之後吧。 至於現時的羽毛球，圓球訜部份是否因成本問題，或因科技進步cork(軟木)已被特製輕膠所取代，則有待了解。
