i'm trying to get a laptop for college like around 700 dollar? any good ones?

I would spend a few extra dollars and buy an Apple Macbook! I think they have student specials coming up pretty soon. Or if you can't afford a new one, you can eBay nicely used ones for a little cheaper. You'll definitely get your moneys worth! Windows Vista is giving so many problems lately, you would be sorry you bought a PC!

Look at the Dell 1505/1525. Those seem to be pretty decent computers for college.

I always recommend HP's to people. My whole family has HP's and they're great. There are other brands out there thats are good but some might be more expensive like Sony. I would also stay away from Gateways. For a Laptop I would recommend it LEAST 2 GB of RAM, a processor of it least like 1.90 GHz, and for 700 dollars a 15.4 screen or 14.1 would be good. Those are really the main factors to consider when buying a computer. Good Luck, and I hope your happy with whatever you choose.

you can find some pretty good ones for that price at Best Buy. I just got my HP on Mothers day but i paid more then 700 for it but they do have some for the price you want.

Apple MacBook is very user-friendly and has a lot of features that young people like such as itunes and ichat. Be sure to get Office for Mac on it because you will need to be able to use Windows to connect with the non-Mac world. I personally prefer Windows, but do not like the new Vista. Dell 1525 is a pretty good option, too, but more than your amount.

Mine costed around $800 and it's from Dell...I think that would be a very good one for college. :-)

My Dell Inspiron E1505 has not given me any hardware problems at all and I beat the crap out of it. They are in your price range. I bought mine in 2006 for about 1500. So, I know they are much cheaper now.

Spend the extra money and get and a Macbook. You'll thank yourself for it later. They are running specials for students soon.
