✔ 最佳答案
1) 5/8 -2/5

= (25 - 16)/40

= 9/ 40

2) 13/4 = 7/4

7/4 +5/6= (21 + 10)/12

= 31/12

3) 21/5 = 11/5

11/5 - 5/6 = ( 66 - 25) /30

= 41/30

4) 1/3 +1/4 +1/10 = ( 20 + 15 +6)/60

= 41/60

to add or subtract fractions , find a common denominator

to multiply fractions just multiply numerator wth numeratr

and denominator wth denomnatr

to divide, flip the 2nd fraction upside down and do as in multiplication

Just make the bottom (denominator) the same in every case. Remember you can multiply each term by anything you like - 3, 8, 17, whatever - provided you do it to both top and bottom.

So 5/8 - 2/5 = 25/40 - 16/40 = 9/40

1 and 3/4 + 5/6 = 7/4 + 5/6 = 42/24 + 20/24 = 62/24 = 31/12

2 and 1/5 - 5/6 = 11/5 - 5/6 = 66/30 - 25/30 = 41/30

1/3 + 1/4 + 1/10 = 40/120 + 30/120 + 12/120 = 82/120 = 41/60
.

1. 25/40 - 16/40= 9/40.
2. 1 and 18/24 + 20/24= 1 and 38/24 or 2 14/24 or 2 7/12.
3. 2 and 6/30 - 25/30= 1 and 36/30 - 25/30= 1 11/30.
4. 40/120 + 30/120 + 12/120=82/120 or 41/60.

find the LCM. eg: 5/8 - 2/5 the LCM is 40 because it is the lowest number they both will go into so now the fraction will be like : 25/40 - 16/40 = 9/40 *whatever you multiply the bottom by you also do with the top*

2. 1 and 3/4 as an improper fraction is 7/3 (multiply the 1 by 4 and add on the 3) so..
7/3 + 5/6 now do like before... the LCM is 6 because it's the first number both numbers go into.

3. same as b4

4. find a LCM of them all ...it is 60 so then like b4 it becomes = 20/60 + 15/60 + 6/60 add them and you get...
41/60
this cannot be broken down any further

Hi you need to find a common denominator. In No 1. common denominator would be 40, because both 8 and 5 will divide into it. So you then have 40 divided by 8 X 5 = 25 second part 40 divided by 5 X 2 = 16 your answer then is 25 - 16 = 9 over 40. All the others are worked out the same way.

1. 9/40
2. 19/24
3. 11/30
4. 41/60

1)
5/8 - 2/5
= (5/5)(5/8) - (8/8)(2/5) (find the least common denominator)
= 25/40 - 16/40
= 9/40

2)
1 3/4 + 5/6
= 1 (3/3)(3/4) + (2/2)(5/6)
= 1 9/12 + 10/12
= 1 19/12
= (1 + 1) (19 - 12)/12
= 2 7/12

3)
2 1/5 - 5/6
= 2 (6/6)(1/5) - (5/5)(5/6)
= 2 6/30 - 25/30
= (2 - 1) (6 + 30)/30 - 25/30
= 1 36/30 - 25/30
= 1 11/30

4)
1/3 + 1/4 + 1/10
= (20/20)(1/3) + (15/15)(1/4) + (6/6)(1/10)
= 20/60 + 15/60 + 6/60
= 35/60 + 6/60
= 41/60
2008-06-08 1:29 pm
(28-16)/40=12/40=3/10
(12+9+10)/12=31/12
(60+6-25)/30=41/30
(20+15+6)/60=41/60
