Answer: 36 is 45% of 80.

Changing percent to fraction:
Percent over (/) 100 and drop the % sign.

Percent to decimal:
Divide the percent by 100 and drop the % sign:
Example: %/100% = decimal

Fraction to decimal:
Divide the numerator by the denominator.

Another method is to remember that all percentages can be converted to 2-space decimals. One percent is .01, ten percent is .10, and forty-five percent would be .45.

80 times .45 produces the same answer as the fraction method, so use whichever one you're more comfortable with.

some notes on converting fraction to decimals and %%'s

1/4 = 100/4 =25% = 0.25
4/3=100/4*3=75%=0.75
1/8= 100/8=12.5%=0.125"""

The answer is 36.
To solve this first change the percentage to a decimal by moving the decimal point two places to the left. Next multiply 80 by the new decimal .45 you get 36.

In response to your other question, you change a percent to a fraction by writing it over 100, for example, 38% as a fraction would be 38/100 then you can find a common factor and reduce, in this case 19/50.

To change a fraction to a decimal simply divide the numerator (top) by the denominator (bottom), for example 2/5 would be .4 because 2 divided by 5 is .4

To change a fraction to a percentage you need to change the denominator too 100, for example if you had 6/25 you would need to multiply numerator and denominator by 4 to make the denominator 100, you would get 24/100 or 24%

To change a percent to a decimal just move the decimal point over two spaces to the left (like I did to solve your initial question.) For example 28% would be .28

Hope this helps!
