Let's rewrite that

3x=3x-3

There is no value of x for which that will work--the equation is inconsistent.

There is no real number solution.
- - - -
On the left, after multiplying, you get 3x;
on the right, after multiplying, you get 3x - 3.

The equation is essentially saying 0 = -3; which can't ever be true.

hi, i think this may be the right method.

6(x/2) = 3(x-1)
6x/2 = 3x - 3
jsut cross multiply, and you will get
2(3x - 3) = 6x
6x - 6 = 6x
6x - 6x = 6

*** 0 = 6

just to clarify, 1 and 0 are definitely NOT solutions.

This is why you are supposed to check your solutions.

6(1/2) = 3(1-1)

3 = 0 no.

6(0/2) = 3(0-1)

0 = -3 no.

Only answerIN is correct. This leads to 0 =1.
Others made RHS = 3x -1, I wonder how?
In fact 6/2 = 3 on LHS sp 3 and 3 calcel and you have x = x-1, which is not true.

6(x/2)=3(x-1)
6x/12=3x-3
-3x -3x
3x/12=-3
*12 *12
3x=-36
x=12

-12

6(x/2) = 3(x - 1)
6*x/2 = 3*x - 3*1
6x/2 = 3x - 3
3x = 3x - 3
3x - 3x = 3
(no solution)
