The atmosphere
Every part of the Earth's atmosphere is very important to us. The system will collapse without any one of them. The troposphere, the lowest layer, is where all the observable weather phenomena are formed. Above that is stratosphere, where the well-known ozone layer lies. The ozone layer absorbs a large portion of the radiation from the sun. Organisms simply cannot survive on Earth without it. Therefore, we must treasure (or protect?) our ozone layer.
On top of the stratosphere is the mesosphere, where many telecommunication satellites orbit the Earth because the massive number of electrons there are crucial to the reception and reflection of signals. The thermosphere, outermost layer, lies just above, and air is extremely thin there.
