my suggestion is that you can list out the conversation among the three people, to discuss what kind of birthday party do they want.

for example:

Mary: My birthday is coming up, and I would like to do something as celebration. But I don't know what to do, can you give me some ideas?

Peter: Sure! I love to help, and I love parties!! I think it is fun and great to meet up with friends.

Jo: Hm.....Mary, how would you like it to happen? for example, where to have it, how many friends you would like to invite, and does it have a special theme for the party, like a dressing up party?
