Rubidium (Rb) reacts with water to form hydrogen and a compound .

Is this compound rubidium oxide or rubidium hydroxide?

Explain Why.

Rubidium reacts with water to form hydrogen and
rubidium hydroxide. a way for easy understanding is that
if the oxide is formed, the volume of water is so large that
it will react with the oxide to form hydroxide.
so hydroxide is finally formed.
